from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Mount Clemens High School
155 Cass Avenue, Mount Clemens, MI 48043
Youth Voices: Changing Public Policy, a candidate forum hosted by Teens Talking Truth (T3), a youth advocacy group from CARE of Southeastern Michigan, and Michigan’s Children- a statewide advocacy organization focused solely on public policy in the best interest of children from cradle to career and their families.
Participating candidates will take questions from Middle and High School aged youth in a standard candidate forum with all candidates given equal time to address the audience and respond to questions. This event will be covered by Michigan Public Radio, as well as by other media outlets. While the event is led by active youth, the audience will consist of people of all voting ages.
Youth Voices: Changing Public Policy is an opportunity for candidates to lay out their plans for addressing the most critical issues facing youth, and talk about how if elected, they will be working towards better outcomes in our communities. According to Michigan’s Children, “we are working to make sure that candidates around the state hear about issues of concern for children, youth and families.”
